The
first hybrid test set was originally designed out of necessity for measuring
the phase noise characteristics of our own RF synthesizers, the decision
to productize our measurement tools came after showing customers how
we test our own products ... . . there
is a demand for cost effective methods for making accurate phase noise
measurements.
Both
residual and absolute phase noise measurements are possible with our
hybrid test systems. Contact Holzworth
for more information on what hardware is necessary for your measurements.
ABSOLUTE PHASE NOISE EXAMPLE
The figure to the right shows how simple the configuration of a hybrid phase noise test system can be. For making phase noise measurements, the HA2100A was specifically designed to operate with a Holzworth ultra low phase noise RF synthesizer. Holzworth RF synthesizers provide the performance and control over the necessary variables required for making accurate measurements. In addition, Holzworth peripheral components are designed with ultra low phase noise performance in mind.

Noise Analyzer with uncorrected measured data resulting from an absolute
phase noise test.
Phase noise performance and
measurements are at the core of Holzworth's business.
Our foundation is deeply rooted in the phase noise phenomena.
Leveraging the performance of our synthesizers, instruments and components;
the engineers at Holzworth have developed various hybrid test systems
that are capable of making highly accurate, close in phase noise measurements.
